During the last 14 years a movie about Roskilde Festival has been in the making.Originaly it was supposed to be ready by the 25th anniversary but it quickly became obvious that it was too big a task for such a short notice. The movie portraits the festival through the eyes of the performing artists, The volunteers and the guests. What happens when you take a ordinary piece of land and fill it with 100.000 happy people and set sail for a monstrous cultural explosions of music, performing arts and social awareness.

Opens in various cinemas in Denmark om May 16th

The work on creating the ROSKILDE-movie dates back 14 years and the movie - like the festival - stretches over several generations.

Originally it was Anne Wivel, who in 1994 was requested by the Roskilde Festival, who was interested in that a bigger movie about the festival was made in celebration of the festivals 25th anniversary.

It didn't take long to show that it was unrealistic to make the movie with just one year of research and recording

In 1999, Annes son Ulrik took over the project and has in collaboration with the big filmcrew driven 8 years of intense filming at the festival.
